Maria, our Administrative Officer, has been with us since 1st Dec 2008. Sitting on Sally's (whom we featured a few months ago) team, a typical day at work for Maria starts at 8am and finishes at 6pm. One of the challenges Maria faces at work is handling wholesale customers who need an item/s urgently. Faced with situations like this at least a few times a week, Maria has never lost her cool. Instead she offers solutions patiently and sympathetically. Apart from being unruffled, Maria is also one who laughs heartily, pokes fun at her own body shape and is always up for playful games!

Maria has been married for seven years and has a boy aged six. A meat-eater, Gelo takes after her. Maria has a helper who tends to the household chores while she is at work but she insists on being the "chef" over the weekends simply because she enjoys cooking and trying new recipes! It is a common sight to see her lug bulky shopping bags home after work with her name appearing high up on the list of total staff purchases! It is uncommon to see her buy lunch because she brings her own lunch box to work almost every day.
Despite the long hours, occasional overtime and communing long distance between her home in Bedok and our office in Jurong, Maria and her husband make an effort to get involved in Gelo's school work and going out for picnics, etc over the weekends. As you can see from the picture above, Maria and her husband are set to create a memorable childhood for Gelo.
